Ward delivers first pitch

Prior to Friday night’s A’s vs. Twins game at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, Oakland boxer and WBA super middelweight world champion Andre Ward threw out the ceremonial first pitch of the game. A’s relief pitcher Tyson Ross, also from Oakland, caught the ceremonial pitch. Ward faces Allan Green in a crucial Group Stage 2 12-round Super Six World Boxing Classic bout on Saturday, June 19, on SHOWTIME® (10 p.m., ET/PT, same-day delay) from the neighboring Oracle Arena in Oakland.
