Médaillé d'or olympique de Cuba en 2004 de et ancien challenger WBC des poids lourds, Odlanier Solis (18-1, 12 KOs) est arrivé à Berlin, en Allemagne, ce matin, où il fera face à l'invaincu norvégien Leif Larsen (17-0, 14 KOs) au Universal Hall ce vendredi (22 Mars) sur une carte diffusée en direct sur Eurosport. «Il est important pour Solis de revenir sur le ring», explique le promoteur Ahmet Oner. "Il n'a combattu qu'une fois l'année dernière. Nous sommes arrivés à le garder actif, en même temps ça n'aide pas s'il se bat  juste contre des boîtes de tomates ou des mercenaires. Je suis donc très heureux d'avoir pu obtenir la lutte contre Larsen. Nous avons discuté de cette lutte l'an dernier déjà.Larsen a déclaré que Solis s'était dérober. Je suis content que Solis a une chance de prouver qu'il n'a pas esquiver tout le monde. Il est le meilleur combattant poids lourd dans le monde et sera champion du monde très bientôt. "

"La Sombra" a été challenger obligatoire pour le WBC titlist Vitali Klitschko en Mars 2011, mais a perdu en raison d'une grave blessure au genou qu'il a subi dans le premier tour du combat de championnat. Maintenant, il veut revenir dans la course au titre en défendant son titre IBF Intercontinental champion lequel il a remporté facilement par outboxing percutant allemand Konstantin Airich en mai 2012.

Dans l'autre combat, leturc welterweight étoiles Selcuk Aydin (23-2, 17 KOs) retourne en Allemagne après avoir perdu ses deux derniers combats aux États-Unis contre Robert Guerrero et Jésus Soto Karass. Pour revenir sur le chemin de la victoire, Aydin descend en welter et fera face au vétéran italien et ancien champion d'Europe Giuseppe Lauri (53-11, 31 KOs).

"Les deux Solis et Aydin sont des combattants d'élite", dit Öner. «Je suis fière d'apporter ces deux stars internationales en l'Allemagne dans le mème gala. Et les deux gars vont être dans des combats difficiles contre des adversaires de qualité. Ce sera un grand spectacle sur Eurosport. "

Oner, Aydin et Solis tiendront une conférence de presse le mardi 19 Mars, à midi, au Best Western Hôtel MAO à Berlin. Le spectacle à Universal Hall commence à l'instant 19 heures allemande le vendredi 22 Mars. La diffusion en direct sur Eurosport commence à 21h.

Cuban 2004 Olympic gold medalist and former WBC world heavyweight title challenger Odlanier Solis (18-1, 12 KOs) arrived in Berlin, Germany, this morning where he will face unbeaten Norwegian powerhouse Leif Larsen (17-0, 14 KOs) at Universal Hall this Friday (March 22nd) on a card broadcasted live on Eurosport. “It’s important for Solis to get back into the ring”, says promoter Ahmet Oner. “He only fought once last year. We got to keep him active, At the same time it doesn’t help if he just beats tomato cans and journey man. So I am very happy that we could get the fight with Larsen done. Now he wants to get back into the title race by defending his IBF Intercontinental championship which he won by easily outboxing hard-hitting German Konstantin Airich in May 2012.
In the co-feature, Turkish welterweight star Selcuk Aydin (23-2, 17 KOs) returns to Germany after losing his last two bouts in the United States against Robert Guerrero and Jesus Soto Karass. To get back on the winning track, Aydin will drop down to junior welterweight and face Italian veteran and long-time European champion Giuseppe Lauri (53-11, 31 KOs).
“Both Solis and Aydin are elite fighters”, says Oner. “I am proud to bring these two international stars back to Germany on the same card. And both guys will be in tough fights against quality opponents. This will be a huge show on Eurosport.”
Oner, Aydin and Solis will hold a press conference on Tuesday, March 19th, at noon at Best Western Hotel MAO in Berlin. The show at Universal Hall starts at 7pm German time on Friday, March 22nd. The live broadcast on Eurosport starts at 9pm German time.
