On May 24 Grant will take on the hard-punching 2004 Olympian in his adopted hometown of Noisy Le Grand, a suburb of Paris, on a show promoted by Joseph Germain.
Grant won the WBF world title by stopping former champion Francois Botha in the twelfth round of their November 2011 encounter in Johannesburg, South Africa, so he is no stranger to fighting abroad.
Takam did him one better four months later when he got rid of Botha in eleven rounds to capture the WBF International title. Since then he has stayed busy with two non-title victories.
“Not only is this a very interesting fight, it is also a very tough title-defense for Mr. Grant”, said Goldberg from his offices in Cape Town.
“Grant came to South Africa to win the world title, and he will be going on the road again to defend it as the true WORLD champion that he is. He is not afraid to go into his opponent’s backyard, which, to me, is how a world champion should be.”
