First EBU Medical Congress

For the first time in Europe, a Medical Congress was held from July 3-5 by the European Boxing Union (EBU) in collaboration with the British Boxing Board of Control in Cardiff, Wales. 67 Doctors from more than 20 European countries attended this important congress with simultaneous translation in 5 languages.

Wrist and Hand Injuries by Mr. David Shewring.

Management of Facial Injuries in Boxing by Mr. Mike Fardy.

Infrascanner – A Role in Boxing by Mr. Ravindra Nannapaneni

Demonstration of possibility in Implementing the Modern Capacity Diagnostics in Boxing by Dr. Beatrix Raudszus

Request to Ring Physician by Prof. Dr.Walter Wagner and Dr. Uli Lex.

Overtraining by Prof. Dr. Mario Sturla

Posterolateral Elbow Impingement in Boxing by Dr. Bas Pijnenberg.

Ocular Complications of Boxing by Dr. David O’Callaghan and Dr. Jamie Skipworth

A Unified European Medical examination form by Robert Smith General Secretary of the BBB of control.

Each presentation was followed by a discussion. During their closing speech both Chares Giles Chairman of the BBB of Control and Bob Logist EBU President underlined the importance of such a congress and the need of a follow up.
